Who they are
Mirror Image Clinic is a nurse-led aesthetic and wellness clinic based in Oakdale, Poole, run by Emma Harris - a registered nurse with extensive experience across primary, secondary, and community care. Emma treats patients across a broad range of services: IV nutrient therapy, vitamin injections, comprehensive blood testing, cryotherapy, and ear irrigation. She operates from a private home clinic setting - which is deliberate. The environment is calm, unhurried, and designed around the patient rather than around throughput.
The clinic is CQC registered, which is not a given in the aesthetics industry and matters enormously to the clients Emma works with. They are not looking for the cheapest option on the high street. They are looking for someone with genuine clinical credentials, the experience to back them up, and a setting where they feel safe. Emma has spent years building exactly that reputation - one patient at a time, through outcomes and word of mouth rather than advertising and discounting.
That reputation is fragile in the way that all high-trust, personal service businesses are fragile. One bad experience can undo years of goodwill. Emma knows this and runs the clinic accordingly. The quality of the clinical work is non-negotiable. The question was whether the website was holding the business back from the growth it had earned.
The problem
The existing site did not reflect the quality or credibility of the clinic. Visually, it was generic. Structurally, it was flat - a handful of pages with no depth, no treatment-level detail, and nothing that gave a prospective patient confidence before they picked up the phone. For a clinic where trust is the entire product, a website that looks like an afterthought is a material problem.
Performance was an issue too. The site was slow to load and difficult to navigate on mobile - which is where the majority of Emma’s potential clients were searching from. A slow, clunky mobile experience does not just frustrate visitors, it signals to search engines that the site is not worth ranking. Both problems were compounding each other.
The deeper issue was invisibility. The site had no structured data, no schema markup, and no treatment-specific pages that search engines or AI tools could index meaningfully. Someone in Poole searching for nurse-led IV therapy or cryotherapy in Dorset would not find Mirror Image Clinic - not because the clinic did not exist, but because the site gave algorithms nothing to work with. AI tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity, which are increasingly where people turn when they are researching healthcare options, had no structured information to draw on at all.
The conversion rate told the same story. At 6.05%, fewer than one in sixteen visitors was going on to book a treatment. The people who did find the site were leaving without taking action.
What was built
A complete rebuild in Astro, starting from the structure rather than the surface. Before a single line of design was written, the information architecture was mapped out around how Emma’s clients actually search - by treatment, by concern, and by location. The result is a site with dedicated pages for every service Emma offers, each written to be clear and accurate for a prospective patient while also being fully structured for search engines and AI tools to parse.
Structured schema markup was built into every treatment page from the ground up - covering business type, CQC registration, service areas, and the specific treatments offered. This is the layer that tells Google exactly what the page is about, and gives ChatGPT and Perplexity the structured information they need to confidently surface Mirror Image Clinic when someone asks about nurse-led aesthetics in Dorset. It is not visible to the naked eye, but it is doing significant work.
The booking flow was redesigned around a single principle: remove every unnecessary step between a visitor deciding they are interested and actually making contact. Every page ends with one clear call to action. There is no confusion about what to do next. The mobile experience was rebuilt from scratch to be fast, clean, and frictionless - because a patient researching IV therapy at 9pm on their phone should not be fighting with a site that will not load properly.
The aesthetic of the site was also brought in line with the quality of the clinical environment. Clean, considered, and credible - the kind of design that reassures a prospective patient before Emma has said a word.
The outcome
The results came through in the first month and have held steady since. Organic traffic is up 30% month-on-month since launch. The new treatment and location pages gave the site significantly more indexable surface area, and those pages are now ranking for terms the old site never appeared for.
Inbound leads increased by 40% month-on-month - more people finding the site, and more of them taking action when they arrived. The conversion rate shift tells that story clearly: from 6% to 10%, meaning roughly one in ten visitors is now going on to book a treatment. That is not a marginal improvement. For a clinic where each patient relationship has real long-term value, that uplift compounds quickly.
The AI search result was the most significant structural change. Citations in ChatGPT and Perplexity results increased by 300% - a direct consequence of the schema work done during the build. Mirror Image Clinic now appears regularly when potential clients ask AI tools about nurse-led treatments, IV therapy, or aesthetic clinics in Poole and Dorset. That is a channel that did not exist for the business before the rebuild, and it is growing as AI-powered search continues to displace traditional results pages.
Emma built Mirror Image Clinic on the quality of her clinical work. The site now reflects that quality - and makes sure the right people can find it.
